I’m hosting a 2-day mountain run to Boone possibly on August 8th (Saturday) to August 9th (Sunday) that’ll start and end around Greenville, South Carolina. The plan is to go from Greenville to Boone, NC using zero interstates and minimal highways, instead maximizing curvy mountain roads, camp at Boone, and then return using a different set of curvy mountain roads.

Me too, looks like a good long weekend of driving (I live in CT, so I’d take some time to get down and back up there)

I would be interested, I’ve done this before and it was a blast

That’s a hike. I used to live up in CT, in VA now so I’m a bit closer, but still. I’d probably come down Friday night late, drive Saturday, and then head back home Sunday instead of doing the return trip.

Makes sense, and whereabouts in VA? I was in Virginia beach to pick up a boat for a friend last Saturday, went down and back in one day. Saw a huge stream of pretty heavily modified corvettes heading south on 13, probably en route to a car show. The sound was biblical

Northern VA, near Tysons Corner. I used to be stationed in Groton, CT. I lived on base for a while and then up in Norwich and finally Uncasville before I transferred to Norfolk, VA.

Nice, nice. Well maybe I’ll see you up there. I’m going to mention this to a bunch of people, maybe we’ll get a whole bunch of Ct cars down there!
